MAKING SENSE OF STRESS
When coping takes
all your energy.
Stress is not always one dramatic event. It can be the steady accumulation of work, caring, uncertainty, conflict, illness, responsibility or change. You may be functioning on the outside while feeling exhausted, tense or unable to switch off.
You may have been carrying a lot for some time, or a recent change may have unsettled what felt familiar. Counselling offers space to pause and explore what is happening.
WORKING TOGETHER
Making room
to think.
Counselling creates time to step out of constant problem-solving and understand what the pressure is doing to you. We can look at what is within your control, what is not, where boundaries are needed and what support has been missing.
We’ll discuss what could change and what support would help.
Changes that can
unsettle us.
People often seek counselling around redundancy, retirement, relocation, parenthood, caring, health changes, relationship endings or changes in identity and purpose. Even a chosen change can involve grief, uncertainty or a loss of the familiar.

A CALM PLACE TO BEGIN
Practical support.
Space to reflect.
Some people need immediate ways to manage pressure and make decisions. Others want to understand why certain demands, roles or expectations are especially difficult. We can work on practical changes and explore the patterns behind the pressure.
Sessions are available in person in County Wexford and online across Ireland, subject to suitability.
About Marie How counselling worksQuestions about counselling
Can I seek support while I’m still coping?
Yes. You do not need to reach a crisis or stop functioning before seeking support. Counselling can give you space to explore what you are carrying, how it affects you and what support or changes may help.
Can a positive change still feel difficult?
Yes. Even a welcome or chosen change can bring uncertainty, loss or pressure. We can make room for mixed feelings and explore what the change means for you, without expecting you to feel a particular way.
Can we meet online?
Online counselling may be an option if you are in Ireland and have a suitable private space. We can discuss privacy, your circumstances and suitability before beginning. Read about online counselling.
